Setting status alarms & actions

Status alarms are similar to meter

alarms, but simpler. Each channel’s

alarm can be either critical or non-

critical. If it is a non-critical alarm, you

can associate an automated response

to it.

Channels 1-6 relay setup. Channels 1

through 6 use momentary, SPDT relays.

The three “check” boxes let you set if

the channel’s relays will be independent

or if they will work as a pair. You can

also restrict access to relay control for

controller level users. These changes

apply to software, Web and dial-up

access. You can also configure the

labels to say what you desire. The relay

label is also displayed in the Web

server, but the individual relay labels

only display in the Sicontroller software.

Channels 7 & 8 relay setup. Channels 7 &

8, 15 & 16, etc. are special. These

channels employ DPDT relays that can be

momentary or latching. It is also possible

to simultaneously operate both relays on

these channels. This function lets you set

a single channel to operate as an audio

switcher or as a 4PDT switch.

When set

for latching mode, the relay labels have

distinct on and off labels that can be

displayed in the software, but not via the

Web server.

Connecting to a Sicon-8 using a

modem(s)

The Sicontroller software will support direct,

dial-up, modem communications with a

remote Sicon-8. In order for this to function,

the computer that runs the Sicontroller

software must be equipped with a modem.

The Sicon-8 must also use an external

modem because there only voice

communications is supported directly by the

Sicon-8.

When using a modem, the Sicon-8’s voice

response must be set to a higher ring

number than the modem, or connected to a

different phone line. If not, the Sicon-8 will answer instead of the modem.
